When I was working in Beijing clueless and not knowing local language sometimes I felt helpless and lost. I couldn’t even ask for a beer in a warm summer afternoon. The only means of communication I had with the local taxi driver was a little piece of paper my Chinese friends have given to me. Business districts and office building names didn’t make much sense too. I thought the business community needs a guide, directory, a tool bridging the cultural gap and language barrier in order to ensure smooth and successful transition.
